I could write a book on why you need a survey but for some reason buyers typically find all kinds of reasons for not doing one.
Questions to consider:
- Is your neighbor’s fence on your property?
- Is there a utility easement on your property that would prohibit you from building your shed in the ideal location?… or prohibit you from putting in a pool, etc.
- Is the shed being conveyed with the property actually on your property or does it encroach a neighboring property?
It is your right to know what you’re buying…a survey will define your property and the easements that are attached to it.
